the night before NKOTB, Boyz II Men, and 98 Degrees were due to perform The Package North American Tour Vegas concert at the Mandalay Bay Events Center (with Boyz II Men and 98 Degrees as supporting acts for NKOTB). We were still exhausted and didn't wake up til sometime in the afternoon but the 1st thought on my mind once we opened our eyes was, "NKOTB's performing at Mandalay Bay tonight!" We didn't have tickets for the 7:30pm concert and needless to say we were more than a bit late planning for this but I HAD to go. I refused to be in the same city as NKOTB and miss their performance! I immediately got on Craigslist and started searching for good deals on tickets. We finally ended up scoring 2 tickets in section 218 for $80 total which was a pretty good deal considering ticket prices had STARTED at $60 or more each (correct me if I'm wrong). It would be Sean's 1st time seeing them, my 2nd, and we were both so excited!

Our tickets:
We arrived at Mandalay Bay around 7pm and walked through the casino to the Events Center. The place was packed with middle aged women all there for the same reason as us, walking the same direction as us. Men in the area were scarce. For me, it was like being part of a giant school of fish but Sean was the odd one out, like the ugly duckling in the family of geese (except he was better looking than any of us females. =p).
We had to go through security to get into the concert.
Just past that, we had a glance at the band merchandise for sale. It was so pricey but so many people were in line for it, buying it, and wearing it. Even I was tempted but I held out. Eventually, it'll all make its way to eBay where I'll pick it up way cheaper anyway. Hey, a girl needs her discounts!
We finally got to our seats. They weren't the best, they weren't the worst, but they were the cheapest and we definitely got our money's worth when NKOTB came on later. Read on!
Things got started with Boyz II Men. I'd never seen them OR 98 Degrees live before but Boyz II Men put on a good show, especially considering their age and how long it'd been since they were big. I wasn't there for them but I was glad we got to see them and happy with their performance plus Sean and I enjoyed singing along with all their old songs!
A mini sample of what we saw!:
98 Degrees were on next. I only knew a couple of their songs and their performance wasn't especially remarkable in my opinion but we enjoyed and appreciated it all anyway. They showed us a pretty good time. =)
The stage as 98 Degrees came on:
Towards the end of 98 Degrees' performance, we left our seats in search of better ones. When we'd 1st arrived, the place was pretty empty with LOTS of seats available in every section. We'd considered finding better ones then but didn't mind ours either so we decided to wait it out a bit and see what would be available later in the show. Most of the seats actually did fill up from the start of the show til just before the New Kids got on stage but we still managed to find some really good ones in section 107, opposite our original seats. They were a lot closer and best of all we didn't have to pay extra to sit in them (like we'd originally considered when searching craigslist for tickets and toying with the idea of paying $140+ for 2 tickets in the 100's sections)! There was an intermission between 98 Degrees and NKOTB. Omg The suspense killed me!! Finally though, the New Kids came on stage...I'm not sure I can put most of the rest of the night into words so I'll put it into video instead!
The COMPLETE 1st half of NKOTB's performance:
..And the entire 2nd half!:
Wow, what a crazy, amazing night!! I was just about speechless after that. Even now, all I can say is that, as long as they're around, this definitely won't be the last we see of NKOTB. We impatiently look forward til next time!
