Sean's and My 3rd Anniversary - Las Vegas 4/10/15

Sean and I had been really tired after not getting much sleep the night before so we had a mini nap from 10pm on 4/9/15 til around midnight. We woke up just a few minutes after midnight though and it was officially our 3 year anniversary! We weren't planning to be up from midnight onwards but unfortunately we had a lot of work to do before we could take the day off. It was a little after 6am when we'd finally cleared our schedules and we're ready to celebrate!

We spent the next 3 hours trying to sleep. Sean got to sleep but I was feeling restless and eventually just gave up. That's okay though. It gave us more time to spend celebrating together! We were up a little before 9am and leaving the house shortly thereafter for the first and most important destination of the day: Circus Circus!

Sean had gotten us a 2-for-1 breakfast buffet voucher for Circus Circus by playing some random phone game so we started the fun part of our day off by fattening up til we were so full we thought we might pop! Our voucher made the cost of our buffet between $16 and $17 and it was worth every penny. It was surprisingly my first time eating at that buffet and Sean's second, NAT '05 being his first, so we went a bit overboard enjoying all the tasty breakfast foods and other stuff. The most noteworthy thing there though was most definitely the beverage room-literally an entire room of beverages!

It was noon when we finally left the buffet and for the first time in as long as I can remember I could actually see my stomach sticking out past my boobs! O_O I wasn't sure what sorts of things we'd be able to do in that condition but we walked over to the Adventuredome and figured stuff out, finding a random $3 left in a slot machine along the way! Turns out I was wrong about a few of my machine counts last time I visited there. They do still have Percussion Master as well as at least 3 Guitar Hero machines in the Adventuredome and 2 more Guitar Heros in the Midway arcade. We didn't revisit the Adventuredome's upstairs dance games this time but we did stop by the Supernova and Extreme, now both $0.50/credit, and played a credit together on Extreme! The pads weren't very good, 2P being the worse of the two, but we got by playing easier stuff and for our second song we played I Do I Do I Do together holding hands! ^.^ <3 We had a mini crowd throughout the set and got some mild cheering but more than for any other reason we enjoyed just goofing off and playing dance games with each other in the same place we'd met over 9 years prior!

After Adventuredome, we walked back towards the Midway arcade area. When we got there, there was an acrobatics show going on so we stopped to watch for a minute and then continued looking around the arcade. We didn't feel like playing any more dance games at the time but it was fun just exploring the arcade a bit and we even found a few tickets and got Sean some Tootsie Rolls in the process.

We started back to the car then but saw a sign for the pool and suddenly wondered whether we'd be able to get in. We'd never been before! Hmmm..The pool area was supposed to be for hotel guests only and was surrounded by a gate with doors that required hotel room keys to unlock. We thought we might be able to figure something out though! We actually found a room key just laying around. We figured it'd be expired and wouldn't unlock the door but that it might come in handy. Being the type of people we are, we'd already prepared for a water encounter by bringing swimwear and our Go Pro camera so we brought them with us to the pool area, waited til we saw a guy going into the pool, and followed closely behind, expired key card in hand so that when he held the door open for us any spectators would see it and assume we were staying there too! It worked perfectly and before we knew it we were changed in to swimwear, relaxing in the water, and hopping between the 2 pools and 2 hot tubs there! We spent about 2 hours lounging around and goofing off together there and felt soooo relaxed and refreshed afterward!

Around 3pm, we finally made it back to the car and left the parking garage. We didn't get far though before we saw the RV park there and remembered we still needed to have a look around inside their convenience store and arcade area. We stopped in for a look and found...the DDR Solo Bass machine owned by Palisades Amusement and formerly located at the Quad/Linq casino and UNLV!!! We obviously had to play so we took turns playing a set each ($0.50/credit) and later added the machine to Circus Circus' ddrfreak listing. :D We were so happy to have found it again!

We needed gas then so we made our way up towards Stratosphere to fill up at AMPM and then stopped in Stratosphere to see if anything there had changed. It had! Amongst other changes, it seemed their arcade now belonged to a different company than before. The game selection had totally changed and all the old games seemed to have been removed and replaced with new ones-DDR Extreme Plus included. :( They no longer had any dance or music games in the arcade, which was now completely Halloween/horror themed and full of zombie and horror-related games. Even the tokens fit the theme and had skulls on them! It was strange, considering it was only mid April, but it did look cool. Of course, this meant I had to delete a machine location from ddrfreak. We weren't too sure if the time frame would make sense for it but it did cross our minds that perhaps the DDR Extreme Plus and other arcade games located at Gold Strike in Jean, NV, which had replaced the classic arcade games that used to make up their arcade, might have been ones previously located at Stratosphere..We couldn't be sure though.

Continuing to walk around Stratosphere, we saw a new Deja Vu adult stow that'd opened up there. We were amused by it so we went in to see what they had and got caught up talking to the owner, Ernie, for the longest time. He was really cool though and we learned a lot and had a lot of laughs with him before heading out.

We were beginning to feel a little sleepy then so we drove to a Rebel gas station and got 64oz of energy drink in a refill cup we'd brought for $1.07.

We didn't really know what to do with ourselves after that so we started towards home and ended up stopping in the Savers parking lot on Tropicana and Eastern. We did a little thrift shopping, which was surprisingly really fun, then and then went to check out the little carnival that was set up in the parking lot in front of the store. Everything was really overpriced though so we had our fun looking around and then drove on home.

Back home, we tried to invite friends over to hang with us but, being adults now, it was too short notice for everyone. It didn't stop us from having fun though! We took turns doing shots of some bottle of moonshine our friend Bigelow had left in our hotel room when we'd visited Utah and made up a hookah for the first time in a long time. Feeling pretty tipsy, we spent most of the rest of the night chatting about nerdy dance game things and then wound up eating, watching some shows I can't remember right now (probably Bleach or Simpsons), and finally cuddling up for bed! Cheap and simple but a very awesome and appropriate way to celebrate my 3rd year with the most handsome husband in the world!

A few days later, an anniversary card came through in the mail from Sean's mom. It was so cute, funny, and perfect. It had us cracking up for a good few minutes. Haha I really do have such a wonderful family!!
