45 Minutes of Unbroken 175bpm Stream (Nerdy ITG Stuff) - 1/27/21

NFG Talents Mix 001 = 45 minutes of unbroken 175bpm stream

(1,952 consecutive measures @ 175bpm)

I had an hour to spare and figured it was about damn time I did this. Almost exactly 2 years after checking it out on our machine for the first time (on 1/31/19), I actually got around to doing it around 1am last night.

My original Facebook post about it from 2019: https://facebook.com/groups/565890830137096/permalink/2163585523700944/?sfnsn=mo

SRPG: I got some nice LP from this and ranked up one more spot. 🥳

Shaded Canyon Trail Hike with Sean and Dogs on 1/22/21

I believe this was the dogs' and my first time on Shaded Canyon Trail. Living in a desert, we don't typically think to check the weather for rain, but it caught us off guard today. It almost seemed like the clouds rolled in just for the occasion! :p The rain and overcast sky actually made a refreshing change, but the lightning striking the power lines RIGHT next to us on the way back to the car wasn't quite as desirable. It was definitely exciting though! We were a liiiiitle perturbed for a couple of minutes, having never seen a lightning strike anywhere near that close before, but were fine and happy to have gotten a couple of fun miles in together safely. We also collected a bunch of golf balls people had managed to hit up onto the trail too, so that was a cool bonus.

ITG Update: Slowly Getting Better

1/23/21: I believe the 90.44% I got on Remembrance today is my highest score on a 19 so far. Playing Never Say Dump (Medium) [19] after was just for lols and out of curiosity over what 245bpm would feel like after 20 minutes of 190. (The answer: special 😂) Shortly after that, I just finished up with a second set of slightly easier stuff.

1/24/21: Through The Fire and France (Expert) [20] wasn't awful. The 220bpm 19 I did after it was a little uncomfortable though. I took a small break then before checking out the new chimichungus pack (info and links for it here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/565890830137096/permalink/3806791616046985/?sfnsn=mo) with my second set. That pack!!! 🤣 Unsurprisingly, I failed Yup (On My Tractor) [23], but I believe it was my first time doing 32+ unbroken measures of 250bpm stream before failing. As for This is America, I'm pretty sure I can do it on a good day but would like a second opinion regarding the difficulty before I do. It's rated a 21.

Observations: I'm beginning to think my watch is onto something, telling me my recovery time will be 4 days just about every time I play ITG. As it turns out so far, I am feeling my best when I keep off the dance pad for 4 days between sessions, probably because of how I play when I let myself hop on. 😂

Sean and I have been taking the dogs out for little jogs and hikes these past few days. Though my legs are undeniably feeling a bit of fatigue between that and dance games, I think keeping on my feet more than usual is actually keeping my legs from seizing up.

SRPG's length points (LP) are given for longer songs, which logically tend to be slower compared to other songs of the same difficulty. Lately, I only bother playing such songs when my legs are too dead to move for anything faster. Accordingly, my top 5 LP songs have all been lower difficulties than my top 10 TP songs. Realizing this, I played Through The Fire and France (Expert) [20] here on 1/24/21 and may test myself on other challenging LP songs with fresher legs soon.

Meet Oliver and Flipmo — Our Snake Plants

Sean and I caved and got matching snake plants (dracaena trifasciata) for our desks the other day. We picked a couple of $1 pots up for them at the 99 Cent Store. I named mine Oliver after Oliver Queen (aka Green Arrow, the superhero) because he's pointy like an arrowhead and also green. 😝 Sean named his Flipmo because Sean is Sean. Lol

The room Sean works in gets a lot more light than the room I do does, but if we both manage to not kill these plants first, I'm totally going to take mine in for sunny playdates with his from time to time. 😄

Backstory: I've avoided owning plants for years now because Sean and I typically travel too much to care for them. Though I continue hoping that the homeboundedness of this moment will be short-lived, I figured now was at least as good a time as any to start working on my green thumb. I'll worry about care for the plants in our absence when we come to it.

There are quite a few other spots around the house that could stand to have some life breathed into them. While I don't plan to have a house full of only snake plants, I do have a couple of spots in mind and names picked out for two more: I'm hoping to find slightly bigger ones with the right "personality" and name them Jake and Draco after Jake "The Snake" Roberts (the wrestler) and Slytherin's own Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter. 🐍 🐍 😂
